Two colleagues discussing documents across a table

What held up—and what still needed work

These notes come from finance leads who hired us for evidence preparation. They mention specific folders, constraints, and the parts that remained hard.

“They rebuilt our revenue cut-off folder from scratch before the Big Four team arrived. Fieldwork still ran long on inventory, but the revenue requests stopped bouncing back to us.”

Mei-Ling Chen · Financial Controller, Precision components manufacturer, Taoyuan · External Review Readiness Engagement

“The gap assessment was blunt—we had unsigned related-party confirmations sitting in email drafts. We fixed them in four days and avoided the scramble we had the year before.”

Hiroshi Tanaka · CFO, Consumer goods importer, Taipei · Evidence Gap Assessment

“Our shared drive looked organised until they asked for assertion tags. The indexing work took longer than I hoped, yet the walkthrough week was the calmest we have had.”

Grace Wu · Accounting Manager, Regional logistics group · Working Paper Indexing & Cross-Reference

“Plant supervisors finally understood what the reviewer wanted because Cloud Optima rehearsed with real shipment packs, not generic scripts.”

Daniel Liu · Operations Finance Lead, Food processing plant, Changhua · Management Walkthrough Support

“I would have preferred more time on the FX bridge before group submission, but the intercompany binder they left us has become our template for every quarter-end.”

Sophie Berg · Group Reporting Liaison, Electronics subsidiary of an EU parent · External Review Readiness Engagement

Longer notes from the field

Taoyuan manufacturer — revenue cut-off before Big Four fieldwork

The controller inherited a revenue folder organised by month, not by sample. Shipping documents lived with the plant, invoices with accounting. Three weeks before the audit team arrived, Cloud Optima rebuilt an assertion-tagged cut-off pack for the final ten business days of the year, with each sample tied to gate passes.

Inventory still generated follow-ups—count sheets from a remote warehouse arrived late—but revenue PBC items closed in the first two days of fieldwork instead of dragging into week two.

Electronics subsidiary — group pack bridge for an EU parent

Local statutory close finished after the parent’s freeze date. We built a bridge from the Taiwan ledger through FX and intercompany eliminations to the figures already submitted, and flagged which lines would be updated after board approval. The group reporting liaison kept that bridge as the quarter-end template; the mild frustration was that FX documentation still needed one extra day we had under-estimated in the first quote.
